This vintage Phulkari long jacket honours thie fiesty women warriors of Punjab, with its muted fiery colours, brass button closures, stern long sleeves and a straight hem. While ‘phulkari’ means floral work, it doesn’t just include flowers but also vibrant geometric shapes and motifs as well. The dynamic darn stitch on the wrong side of the fabric with resham thread is a trademark Punjabi craft practised by the women embodying as well as celebrating womanhood in all its prettiness and pluck.
